I had spent a couple of days looking for this rather elusive and difficult to photograph sunbird. When I did find them, it was an even more frustrating time trying to catch a good shot of this very pretty bird. They were always well hidden by the foliage of the tree that they were in and you have to have a good eye to spot them.
If I did have a good shot, it was only for fleeting seconds before it moved away. I almost wanted to shout stop! don't move. So folks the my mystery sunbird is this tiny fella - the purple-throated sunbird. He's a lot smaller than the more common sunbird and he sings better than the rest of them.
