Tekka Market - Pulasan

The Pulasan is closely allied to the rambutan and sometimes confused with it. As the weather is a little drier this year, we seem to have more of these rare fruit in the markets this season. The fruit is sweeter than the rambutan but very rare outside of southeast Asia.
Here's the fruit opened and half the flesh taken away. It looks exactly like the rambutan.
