An Apple Crumble Inspiration

My friend's rather unique apple crumble spurred me into take my filo pastry out of the freezer and turning it into something edible. I bought ten apples from the supermarket -five Granny Smiths and five French Golden Galas. Peeled them and cut them up before sauteing them in butter, vanilla sugar and cinnamon. Then I wrapped the sauteed apples up in the filo pastry. The hardest bit was the pains taking effort of painting each piece of filo pastry with butter and layering them. Each little morsel came out of the oven crispy and light. Pair the warm pastry with vanilla ice cream and you will be in dessert heaven.Rest of the pastries were served to family and they were gone in no time.
