Drove all the way to Jurong at 7 a.m. just to catch up with a pair of Lineated Barbets. My friend who had photographed the pair earlier was my guide and he was delighted that there was a chick in the nest. Seen here with head peaking out of hole in the tree trunk.Didn't take us long to be totally enthralled with the chick and the busy, busy, busy parents flying back and forth bringing food for the chick. Sitting near the tree, I could hear the chick calling and it wasn't long before I realized that there were chicks calling from the nest hole. While shooting the feeding activities, it also was clear that the parents would not feed the chick, and seem to wait while it nudged the parent. It was simply fantastic to watch.
