Rumah Makan Minang at Kandahar Street

Rumah Makan Minang at the corner of Kandahar Street and Muscat Street, is a popular nasi padang restaurant serving authentic padang food. Nasi padang restaurants serve dishes that are specialties of the Sumatran Minangkabau people. The cuisine is named after the provincial capital, Padang. Rumah Makan Minang, is a simple restaurant occupying a pre-World War II colonial shop-house in the padang food belt of Kandahar Street, in the vicinity of the Sultan Mosque. It has great dishes and another must try. Their best sellers: Tahu Goreng (Fried crispy tofu covered in smoothering spicy crunchy peanut sauce), fried chicken, asam pedas, succulent tenderlicious beef rendang and to die for Malay desserts such as chendol.
