Golden Pillows

Despite being totally stuffed from all the food we had in Chinatown. The three of us decided to buy a packet of Mon Tong (Golden Pillows)durian for the road. The challenge for us was to find a vendor who had ripened durians as the Thais prefer unripe durians.
We found a packet and it cost us 160 Baht. After bundling our treasure in a plastic bag, we headed back to enjoy our durian.
Each of us had two seeds of the Mon Tong and it was a heavenly way to end the evening. Each tiny seed was wrapped a plump pillow of golden yellow flesh that was creamy, sweet and just wonderful. However, we all agreed that we prefer the bitter durian found in Malaysia.
