I have been trying to find these elusive birds and have discovered that they sometimes sit quietly on dead branches watching for insects. It was a good observation to note as you can miss them easily as they can be invisible in the bright sunlight.
The next observation was the fact that I had found a small group of juvenile Blue-throated bee eaters. They don't seem to be with the mature flock and are found in small groups at the edge of the forest. This particular juvenile I've noticed several times and it will always sit on its favorite perch every morning till about 9am then it's disappear deeper into the forest. Notice the color difference between an adult and the juvenile. The juvenile is greenish blue. Aren't they pretty birds?
