This gorgeous green snake literally found me as it hung off a tree right in front of me. However, it took a while for me to see it as it blended in with the leaves. It was the second snake of the day that did not try to get away. Another dropped quickly into the undergrowth before this one as I stood in front of it. Ha! Ha! okay I can be quite blind when it comes to snakes, they have to dangle right under my nose for me to see them.Once I saw the Oriental Whip snake popped out against the green leaves, I was very careful with my movements so as not to frighten the snake. Didn't take it long to become accustomed to having me around photographing its every move, I became the snake's paparazzo. It stayed with me for over 30 minutes allowing me to photograph it from many different angles.I am so pleased with this snake as it was just gorgeous in green. As I spotted some people approaching and I stopped photographing it so as not to alert the approaching group to the presence of the snake.
I am very protective of snakes as people tend to kill them on sight, and since this one was at eye level and very bold I wanted to ensure that no harm came to it. As I expected the snake was not seen and the group went on their way. This is my favorite shot of all the photos that I took of this whip snake.
