The Resident Salty

I finally spotted the saltwater or estuarine crocodile the largest of all living reptiles. It is found throughout Southeast Asia, Northern Australia, and the surrounding waters. Another success story in the making, an apex predator reestablishing itself within the mangrove ecosystem.
This crocodile is about 1.5m long and I had initially thought it was a large water monitor. Only problem was it was a little larger and the color wasn't quite right. I pulled out my camera and peered through the lens to see a crocodile staring back at me.Once word spread that I had spotted a crocodile people started coming over. Much to my frustration as the wood bridge vibrated with their foot falls. It was a good thing I managed to get a couple of shots that were keepers before the crocodile leaped off the bank and into the river. This was the last shot I took of the crocodile before it climbed out of the river.
