One of the reasons why I keep going back to the Land of Smiles. There's something magical when birds have no fear and approach you. This little Siberian Blue Robin was hopping around us and at one point it was literally staring at me from less than 0.5 meters away.
He later very obligingly posed for us on various pieces of wood.
Despite its name, the Siberian Blue Robin does not exist only in Siberia. The species breed across East Asia right to Japan, and they winter in Southeast Asia. If you are lucky, you can spot them in Singapore's nature reserves too but don't expect one to come hopping up to you.
