I was sitting on the porch on Friday morning, and notice a larger and less delicate looking olive colored bird. Initially, I thought it was another female sunbird but I soon noticed that the bird had a much longer and curved beak of the bird. This was when I got excited as I was looking at a little spiderhunter.
So the next two days, I kept a watch out for the bird with my camera handy. It would come by but stay well hidden in the heliconia. Finally, my patience paid off and I sat quietly photographing the bird as it fed on the heliconia.
