A Butterfly Named Commander

The Commander has a wingspan of 60-75mm and is one of the vividly coloured forest butterflies. The under wing is predominantly grayish-white but the upper side is a brilliant reddish-brown. The mid-region of its wings has a series of broad snow-white spots forming a band, in addition to other scattered spots, and the wing margin is wavy.
