A Colorful Snake

The first time I sent photos of a snake to colleagues in the office caused shrieks from the gals. Unfortunately, I wasn't physically there to hear it. The photos were of a snake that entered my home. My helper wasn't aware that the snake was behind her till I pointed it out. She shrieked and ran. I had a good laugh before asking her to get the camera and started to photograph the snake. I ended up catching it and releasing it back into the nature reserve.
This Kopstein's Bronzeback was hanging off a branch when it was spotted in the nature reserve. Instead, of fleeing it was pretty confident that I wasn't going to harm it and gave me the opportunity to photograph it. If you want to find out more about this snake and Singapore's wild animals go buy this book 'Wild Animals Of Singapore'.Snake and photographer were both mutually curious, and it was such a great experience. However, I paid a price for the experience, the mossies extracted blood as payment.
I'm watching Bourdain's No Reservations on Laos. Gosh, I wanna go back and yes tourism is slowly destroying the ole city of Luang Prabang. BTW, UNESCO the temples are being chewed away by termites. Them old buildings need to be treated and preserved not left untouched to rot.

Cool Snake. How did you identify it? Almost all bronzebacks look the same to me.

How do you differentiat Kopsteins Bronzeback, striped bronzeback and painted bronzeback?

I had a friend who helped me identify the snake. Other person I seek input from is Nick.

Oh Nick, from Ecology Asia... I have chatted with him too....

He is the one who helps me identify many animals that I can't identify...

Yes, he's helped me with a couple but I have several other friends who are experts too.

I know ;-) it is also called the red-necked bronzeback.

I still have asked Nick about the Bronzeback that I saw, but he has not replied yet. I think its the Blue Bronzeback.

Hi Shawn, he's probably busy. Another site you can try is http://herpweb.net/index.html. It's managed by another person I know who is a herpatologist.
