Eco-Lake Orientation

I had friends who'd been asking to come out with me to photograph stuff, so I organized a session on Saturday morning but only one friend showed up. I didn't mind as one-on-one session as I could also answer more questions and use the time to catch-up as well.

While waiting for the friend to arrive, I paid a visit to the resident crab spider and used a 50mm lens to photograph it.As it was in an odd position, I was forced to bend over the plant to get my shot. A man walked by and told me that there are other flowers in better position and I should try photographing those instead. I stopped to explain to him that I was photographing a spider and not the flower.
When my friend arrived, I did an orientation walk around the park to explain where he could look for subjects and how having an eye to spot the creatures in the park can pay dividend.

We then walked over the bridge and I showed him the sunning sliders under the bridge. He chose to photograph them but he asked me why I wasn't photographing them as well. I explained that I haven't found anything interesting, till I spotted this slider, which had a claw chewed off.We then walked on the edge of the lake and I picked out this white flower as my next subject. We then parted ways as I wanted him to explore the surroundings for himself.As for me, I settled down on the edge of the lake to photograph the damsels but the ground sheet that my helper packed for me wasn't water resistant. I ended up getting wet and muddy with very little good shots as I couldn't get comfortable with the muddy water seeping through the ground sheet.

The hour produced these shots - a pair of damsels submerging together to lay eggs,and a second pair settled on top of them to do the same thing. We packed it in at 11 as it was approaching noon.
