Patience Finally Pays Off

The pair of Collared Kingfishers that have taken residence within the reserve may be feeding chicks as they have become bolder in their search for food.
The pair have moved into the playground and are hunting whatever prey they can find. One of them landed not too far away from me and grabbed a centipede. These photos were shot over a period of days as the birds will only tolerate so much human presence before they take flight and disappear. However, with patience this was the best close-up shot I could get of one of the birds.

Wow! Your photos make me want to visit Singapore just for the birds and the food! Thanks for the "mini-staycation" (vacation from my desk in the DNA lab).
