A Slug Snake

I got an opportunity to photograph a juvenile White Spotted Slug Snake today. I have to say thank you to a friend who showed me this 10 cm long baby. I didn't even know that such snakes existed and I got my horizon expanded with this encounter.I couldn't find much information about slug snakes other the the fact that their diet consists of slugs and sometimes snails that is how the snake got its name. The snake is nocturnal and a ground dweller. A full grown white spotted slug snake is 45 cm long and the red collar that you see on this juvenile will change to yellow. This little one will go back into the jungle and hopefully it will get to survive till adulthood in the wild.

Interesting...I always learn something new each time I visit your blog. The red line close to this slug snake looks like a collar.
